Ammonium sulfate ((NH4)2SO4) is an inorganic salt widely employed for various commercial purposes. Primarily utilized as a soil fertilizer and nitrogen fertilizer, it boasts a high nitrogen (N) concentration at an economical cost. Displaying a white or off-white crystal appearance, it readily dissolves in water, resulting in an acidic solution. Insoluble in alcohol and ammonia, the substance is hygroscopic in the air. With a composition of 21% nitrogen and 24% sulfur, it caters to essential plant nutrition needs.

Note: When employed in agriculture, it is unnecessary to scrutinize the content of Fe, As, heavy metals, and water insolubles in ammonium sulfate.
